From 1949 to 1961, General Motors ran its own motor show. Called Motorama, the annual event was a showcase for concept cars which revealed prospective design and technology directions for all of GM's brands and for cars in general. This is the Volvo XC Coupe concept, revealed in full after teaser sketches were shown late last year. It’s 'the next chapter in the Volvo design story', according to the Swedish automaker and it's new design boss, Thomas Ingenlath. The rakish SUV will take centre stage for Volvo at the Detroit motor show later in January 2014.

Ford has frozen the starter price on its Focus mainstay for the new 2015 model year facelift. The news means that the Focus 1.6 Studio five-door hatch will cost from £13,995. And the Blue Oval pledges it’s not just an entry-level pricing gimmick; well equipped Titanium and Titanium X models have actually dropped on the new facelifted Focus, costing £100 less.
